Core Self-Inventory Result Interpretation Guide

This guide helps you understand the patterns revealed in your Core Self-Inventory results. By analyzing your ratings (1-10 for each dimension) and priorities (1-10 for each dimension), you can gain valuable insights into your current state of being.

Key Concepts:

  • Rating: Reflects your current satisfaction level in each core dimension (1 = very low, 10 = very high).
  • Priority: Indicates the relative importance you place on each dimension in your life in order of importance (1 = highest priority, 10 = lowest priority).

Interpreting Your Results:

1. Identify Discrepancies:

  • High Rating, Low Priority:
    • Interpretation: This combination suggests you may be content with your current level in this area and feel it doesn’t require significant attention or effort. Consider whether this reflects true contentment or complacency. Are you neglecting opportunities for growth or deeper fulfillment within this area?
    • Example: High rating in “Physical” (excellent health) but low priority. While you may be physically fit, could you be missing out on opportunities for deeper connection with your body through practices like yoga or mindfulness?
  • Low Rating, High Priority:
    • Interpretation: You’re acutely aware of areas needing improvement and are motivated to address them. This can be a powerful motivator for growth. However, it’s important to set realistic goals and avoid becoming overwhelmed.
    • Example: Low rating in “Financial” but high priority. You may be experiencing financial stress and are highly motivated to improve your financial situation.
  • Low Rating, Low Priority:
    • Interpretation: This may indicate a lack of awareness or acceptance of a crucial area of your life. Consider whether you’re consciously or unconsciously avoiding this dimension.
    • Example: Low rating and low priority in “Spiritual.” You may be neglecting your spiritual needs or may not believe that spirituality is important to you.
  • High Rating, High Priority:
    • Interpretation: You’re likely already focusing your energy on areas that are both important to you and where you feel strong. This can be a sign of alignment and fulfillment. However, be mindful of the potential for burnout if you consistently prioritize areas where you already excel.
    • Example: High rating and high priority in “Relational.” You likely value strong relationships and actively cultivate them.
